'05 Caravan at Cabot trail overlook -->

       ALASKA    35 DAYS     2013      $2600.00

This tour begins in Dawson Creek, BC at Mile 0 of the Alaskan Highway. We zero our odometers and follow our road logs for the next 35 days through the pristine beauty and rugged terrain of British Columbia, the Yukon Territory, and Alaska. On the way to Whitehorse, Yukon we soak in the Liard Hot Springs. In Fairbanks, we ride on the Riverboat Discovery, and pan for gold at the El Dorado Gold mine. After touring the city by bus we visit the Alaska Pipeline and Museum of the North. After touring Denali National Park and Mt McKinley, we dine at the Sourdough Mining Company in Anchorage, an experience you won’t forget. We stay three days on the ocean at Seward, on the Kenai Peninsula. Some folks fish for halibut, or visit the museum while others relax. We tour Kenai Fjords National Park, and see giant humpbacked whales, puffins, seals and wildlife galore on the way to the calving glaciers. We camp near the Yukon Border where you may choose your own diamond willow walking sticks.  We enjoy three days in the cruise-city port of Skagway. We erect a sign with all our names in the famous signpost forest in Watson Lake, Yukon. In Hyder, AK, we drive to Salmon Glacier, the largest glacier in the world accessible by car. We watch grizzly bears and bald eagles feed on salmon from a mere 20 - 50 feet away on sand bars in Fish Creek. Our caravan route takes us along some of the most scenic traveling in North America.
